[Prep Work 2011] New year and new look.

West Chester, PA (PRWEB) – February 11th 2011, Matt Waldin Racing
is preparing the new Helix powered 350z for action in the 2011 Formula
Drift circuit. This will be the first year the team is running the
full Formula Drift schedule.

At the end of last year with the help of Brian Crower, the 350z
got a serious kick in power that propelled the team to it’s highest
qualifying effort in Formula Drift to date. The team is aiming to
continue on the upward trend starting in Long Beach, CA at Formula
Drift’s inaugural event. The April 8th/9th event takes place on
the streets of Long Beach where only a week later the F1 race is
held. The stands are always packed for this event and the cars always
look their best since it’s the first of the year.

Formula Drift 2011 Schedule:
April 8th/9th – Long Beach, CA – Streets of Long Beach
May 6th/7th – Atlanta, GA – Road Atlanta
June 3rd/4th – Palm Beach, FL – Palm Beach International Raceway
June 17th/18th – Wall, NJ – Wall Speedway
July 22nd/23rd – Monroe, WA – Evergreen Speedway

Rendering of the Helix powered 350z:

The new look of the car has been finalized and is a great representation of the new partnership between Helix Drinks and Matt Waldin Racing. Mike English, head of Marketing and PR at Helix Drinks comments “we are excited to see the design come together and we couldn’t be happier, Matt and his car come at a perfect time as we accelerate our push into national retail markets.”

The team at Import Intelligence is hard at work making sure that everything on the car is in perfect working order and it’s ready to do battle. Matt commented “The whole crew is
pumped to have a fresh start, new look and equipment for the following year. Its a major undertaking for to run a full season of any racing series, the guys at Import Intelligence have already proven they are up to the task.”

Back on board for 2011 is BC Racing Suspension. BC Racing Suspensions have always been the best balance between performance and cost. MWR firmly believes that it is important to use the products that normal consumers will be purchasing. A properly setup car starts with the suspension, “BC Racing Suspension was simply a perfect fit into our program. With years of racing heritage and great customer service, we would be silly to use any other company.”

MWR is also proud to announce the team will be running on Federal Tire’s 595RS-R sports tire. This particular tire was born on the racetrack but quality and process standards make this
tire 100% street legal. The 595RS-R is highly acclaimed and is the “go-to” tire for many drift and sports car enthusiasts worldwide.

HELIX Review (and award) from “The Examiner”

Helix energy Drink Mix – a startup worth fighting for

Helix energy powder is among the best energy drink mixes I have ever tried. This newcomer onto the field provides more than just another orange drink in powder form, but will change the way you get your energy fix. Sure, some companies have come out with energy drink mixes before, but this is the first I have seen which does not make any big health benefit claims, does not cost ten bucks a pack and comes in a very easy to transport pack. I really hope this drink makes it out to the public – it has all the right ingredients to be a real winner in this market. The people producing this mix are still in business infancy. This is one of those ideas that I really hope makes it to mass- market soon, as it has some real potential. With a great package and a winning mix, this has the chance for something special. All that is needed now is a reallly smart promotional and advertising push – something that will land this in the convenience stores and groceries, and ultimately get this drink to the point everyone can grab a stick. I am sincerely hoping they make it, because the samples they sent me have all run out, and I am already jonesing for more.

Buzz/Nutrition:9
As far as I understand, the point of this mix is it is supposed to do the job at an inexpensive price – and this excels beyond what I could have expected for energy – and still gives the other energy drink nutrients we all like. This is full of B vitamins and Taurine, while still only having 10 calories per pack. This means that this is not supposed to be the same kind of drink mix as Zenergize, or one of the other “healthy” energy drink mixers using stevia and green tea powder. There is a very nice 160mg of caffeine in one of these packs, which gave me a great boost which lasted for a long time and left no crash.

Taste:9
This drink mix also is without the citric acid/sodium bicarbonate mix, so not only does it not fizz up and leave nasty bubble scum at the lip of your water bottle, but it also does not taste like baking soda. This is a REAL advantage over the other mixes, as there has been only one drink mix I have tasted that fizzes that was truly delicious that was carbonated(zipfizz orange soda mix). While this drink mix is definitely harsh when tasted by itself, it is a strong and flavorful orange, not at all weak even in a full 16oz bottle. The orange does not taste at all natural – flavored more like tang than an actual orange, but that was expected from this kind of drink.

Packaging:8
I like the overall helix design, and I found out that the packages are slightly water resistant – as I accidentally soaked a pack near the sink. I really like the overall DNA line, looking very scientific and clean, rather than going silly and extreme. The designer did a great job putting all the information on there, although I would really have liked to see the caffeine content on the package, especially since it is so substantial. Although these sticks are not for individual sale, I would put more info to get hold of the company so if you do chance upon one you could pick up a stack. I do think this type of packaging is better than the hard plastic packaging, and certainly better than the lightweight and easily trashed lipton and crystal light packages. Overall, I think this is a winning package that does a great job selling and promoting the mix.

HELIX Review from “Addicted 2 Energy”
RATING: 8.7 OUT OF 10
Yesterday, 10 of what is called Helix arrived at my doorstep. Helix is just like Crave only an orange flavor instead of whatever flavor Crave was supposed to be. So, the directions told me to dissolve the entire packet into a 16.9 ounce bottle, so I did. It took a couple of minutes to dissolve and when I took my first sip I was quite pleased. The taste was a mixture of orange Kool-Aid and orange Popsicle. This drink would be a great workout companion because it is non-carbonated and quite refreshing. It certainly tasted great but what does the energy blend look like. Well, here it is: 20 milligrams of niacin, 4 milligrams of vitamin b6, 12 micrograms of vitamin b12, 5 milligrams of pantothenic acid, and a 1,000 milligram proprietary energy blend consisting of taurine, caffeine, d-glucuronolactone, l-carnitine, and panax ginseng. Not to mention there is only 10 calories, 2 grams of carbohydrates, no sugar, 120 milligrams of vitamin c, and 110 milligrams of sodium. I think the energy blend is quite nice and you can never go wrong with low calorie energy drinks, especially if you want to watch your figure. As far as caffeine content goes, there is 160 milligrams of the stuff in Helix. So, did it work? You bet it did. Around 10 or 15 minutes after drinking it I received a medium-high level boost that did not fade until 3 or 4 hours later, possibly more. This is really a great product all-around and I hope they become one of the leaders in the energy drink powdered mix category. I will give Helix a rating of 8.7 out of 10.
With the small success of Energy Rush Citrus, I decided to try another energy mix, this time Helix Orange. Helix Orange is from the (gasp) Helix Drinks company. The drink has won several awards since its release in 2008, so I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to get some free samples. Though many people have praised Helix Orange, I wouldn’t bet money on it being great…

FIRST IMPRESSION: I really like the package of Helix Orange. The DNA on a white package is pretty intriguing and matches its slogan, “The New DNA of Energy.” I don’t quite understand what “Helix” means, or why they chose orange as there first flavour, I would of picked cranberry or fruit punch. Either way, there’s no two thoughts about the package being good looking. One thing that bugs me is the purple DNA thing in the name “Helix.” Shouldn’t it be orange? I don’t know…4/5

TASTE: I ripped the top off and poured it in the bottle. It comes out looking like neon, yet some how dull orange colour. The scent is Orange Tic Tacs, which I’m sure everyone knows are the best Tic Tacs… The flavour is best described as a weak orange taste, with a good level of tartness and sweetness. There’s no after taste, which is good. It goes down really smooth, making it an adequate thirst quencher. Overall, the flavours pretty good, being very true to the fruit its mimiking…3.8/5

KICK: Each packet contains: citric acid, natural flavours, caffeine, sucralose, ginseng, and Vit. B6, B12, and C. This mix gave me a pretty good buzz. I didn’t feel like going crazy or anything, but Jesus Crow did my alertness go up. I felt full or energy. Because of the lack of sugar, these feelings lasted around four or so hours…4/5

FINAL WORD: While I did have my doubts, I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with Helix Orange. The flavour, the kick, and the packaging were all above average, something that energy drinks usually can’t do, let alone energy drink mixes. Overall, while I do feel that the flavour could be a little stronger, its an impressive product which leaves me waiting in excitement for Helix’s next flavour…3.9/5

HELIX Review from: “Caffeine-A-Holic”
Energy mixes are becoming one of my favorite products (if done right).  You can throw some in your desk drawer, in your pocket, or in your car for whenever you need a pick me up.  These are great because all you need is some water and you have yourself an energy drink.  Today I will be checking out Helix Energy.  A big thanks goes out to my good friend over at Kingofcaffeine.com for hooking me up so I could review it.
The Look: Helix comes in a nice foil lined tear away packet.  The design fits in very nicely with the Helix theme and the package has a nice look to it.  On the packages I got the caffeine amount was not listed but that looks to be fixed on the new packages. You get the information that is needed on the pack and they did a good job of keeping the small package uncluttered.
(8 out of 10)

Taste: Some powders are horrible and some are great, Helix falls into the great category.  There are only 10 calories in a package and 0 grams of sugar.  The taste reminds me of an orange Powerade, extremely tasty.  There is no vitamin aftertaste or caffeine taste in Helix.  This is a very tasty mix.
(9 out of 10)

Does It Work: The amount of caffeine in a pack kind of surprised me, 170mg of caffeine.  170mg is quite a bit of caffeine for a powdered energy mix.  Along with the caffeine you also get a good amount of Vitamin C, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, magnesium, L-Taurine, L-Carnitine, Ginseng, Glucuronolactone, and citric acid.  After drinking one of these in my bottled water this morning I became very alert. Helix left me pleasantly surprised at the amount of energy it gave me.  I was amped up and felt great for a good 4 hours.
(8 out of 10)

Overall Thoughts: I had not heard anything about Helix before I received the samples from Kingofcaffeine.com but now I have to say after trying these out I am rather impressed.  This would be a great drink for outdoor activities because it is very refreshing.  You can check them out at their website at Helix Drinks where they have a bunch of information as well as a way to order some.  You can also buy some from my good friend at Kingofcaffeine.com.  If you get the chance give this a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
HELIX Review from: “Energy Fiend”
Helix is a newcomer to the energy drink market. They have only one product currently and it hasn’t been out for very long.

None the less they’ve received awards from examiner.com as being among the best energy products of 2008.

Combine that with some pretty cool branding and my curiosity is peaked. Helix is a drink mix rather than a canned beverage. It comes in a slim pouch that is pre-measured for the standard half-liter bottles of water available at any store with a cooler. I’ve heard (though not tried) that it works well to mix into other drinks such as teas and sports drinks.

Taste

Helix turns your bottle of water a bright, glowing orange when mixed and tastes about how you’d think. It has a tangy orange flavor that doesn’t have much of an energy drink “signature” to it. Some reported to me that it tastes very much like Tang. It is sugar-free so it has a lighter flavor than you expect, but all in all it’s very much like a bottle of Kool-aid.

My only complaint is that the crystals in the mix don’t always dissolve completely, making the last few drinks kind of gritty. I initially blamed this on not properly shaking the mix, but it didn’t seem to matter how forceful I was on subsequent drinks. It’s not really terrible but it is noticeable.

Ingredients

Helix packs 160mg of caffeine into each packet along with Ginseng and Vitamins B6, B12, and C.

Energy

I received a great boost the first time I drank this stuff. I’m not sure if I was in a strange body state or what because after the first try, Helix delivered only a medium level rush. However, the price to performance on Helix is great and many will find it delivers just the right amount of energy.

Verdict

Overall, Helix is a very good start for a fledgling company. They’ve kept it simple with one good flavor and kept the energy content manageable. I hope they find some wider distribution as I don’t know that I’d go out of my way to purchase these over the internet when so many good options are available right around the corner. I’ll be interested to see how they do and will hopefully be able to sample some of the new flavors they have coming down the road.
